This is Vision Pro a special version of SignLab - here we have set up part of the job using the piece size and applying the graphics with a cutter offset to allow for the width of the cutter in order to cut a properly proportioned character set.
Notice the small device on the left hand side in line with the Braille- this is to indicate that the sign contains Braille and is the first thing that a visually impaired user would seek out.
We'll now delete the Braille part of the layout and get on with cutting the Tactile lettering.
From the picture on the rght, iyou can see that we have applied a strip of white material for the tactile lettering and also a piece for the Braille Marker. The white material has then been routed to create the lettering.
Having routed the lettering it now needs to be weeded to take the background away - this is helped by the use of 3M 467 adhesive which is applied to the back of the 1mm thick tactile material. This adhesive is a slow cure adhesive taking up to three days to reach full cure. If the cutting and weeding process takes place on the same day as the material is applied to the substrate, its removal is a simple operation.
The Braille Kit contains various aids to help with the job of weeding but it's not unlike weeding vinyl.
That's it really - the processes and materials are easy enough to use but we're here to help and if you buy a machine from us training comes as part of the package.
